Leadership Transition

We are delighted to announce that after an extensive, nationwide search, Kaile Thomas has been selected as the next Executive Director of The Little School.  We look forward to welcoming Kaile when she assumes her new role on May 1, 2020. There will be a six-week overlap between Kaile and our current Interim Executive Director, Molly Huffman, to support a seamless transition.

Kaile brings an incredible depth of training in theoretical areas that relate to The Little School’s current program, in addition to bringing expertise in areas that will support the growth and increased quality of its delivery.  She has held a variety of teaching and leadership roles, both within school settings (Laurel Hill Preschool and San Francisco Schoolhouse) and in early childhood-related agencies in San Francisco (Safe and Sound, and Felton Institute).  

Kaile has demonstrated a deep understanding of, and a commitment to, The Little School Pillars:  Quality ECE, Diversity, and Inclusion. Kaile’s emphasis on a relationship-based approach to her work, and her disposition to listen and lead with empathy, are complementary to The Little School’s culture.
